June 2023 – Transaction dialog improvements
Dear customers,
This latest update includes details of a number of improvements to the transaction dialog to make it easier to use.
The transaction dialog is used for entering or editing income and expenditure records and is one of the most commonly used parts of the application. Here we summarize a number of recent improvements we have made as a result of requests from customers.
Easier selection and entry of suppliers
The way in which the Expenditure dialog allows selection or creation of suppliers has been improved. You can now start typing into the supplier field to find and display any matching suppliers. In addition, you can record a new supplier by simply typing its name – no more need to click the ‘+’ button.
Ability to add custom payment types
Previously, the list of payment types was limited to a predefined set. Now you can either select from the predefined set or type in any custom value.
Smarter create and add another
When entering a number of transactions, it is possible to use the Create and Add Another button to easily add the next record. When using this button we have made the copying of values more intuitive and consistent across the different types of transactions.
Smarter parsing of number formats
The system is now a little smarter when typing or pasting numbers into currency fields. It will recognize a broader set of formats, including the use of separators.
Additional improvements
- For VAT-enabled customers, we have fixed a minor glitch whereby the system would allow VAT to be a non-zero value if the VAT classification was set to Excluded.
- When account tracking is enabled, we no longer allow selection of different accounts for the external financial party for income and expenditure records as this was redundant and cluttered the user interface unnecessarily.
- A number of performance tweaks have been made so the dialog displays and saves more quickly.
We’ll continue to keep you updated on new features we add to SmartPropertyManager. And as always, please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions or if you have any suggestions on how we can make SmartPropertyManager work better for you.
Best regards,
